Opportunity

WEM has a rewarding opportunity for an Apprentice Plant Mechanic to join the team.

Through our partnership with a Registered Training Organisation, you’ll undertake your apprenticeship, combining hands-on, practical experience with formal training to achieve your chosen qualification in civil construction.

This role is based in our workshop at Seven Hills and requires travel to job sites across the area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in diagnosing issues and identifying damage to plant equipment and fleet machinery
  • Supporting the repair and preventative maintenance of mechanical systems
  • Participating in scheduled servicing of machinery and vehicles on-site
  • Helping to source parts required for maintenance and repairs
  • Learning to complete maintenance records and job documentation in line with company procedures

We are Looking for Someone Who:

  • Is currently enrolled in or intending to commence a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent)
  • Has a genuine interest in mechanics and a desire to build a career in heavy equipment maintenance
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn and develop technical skills across a range of machinery brands such as Volvo, Kobelco, Bell, Hitachi, and CAT
  • Holds a Driver’s Licence and White Card
  • Is proactive, reliable, and enthusiastic about working in a team environment
  • Has attention to detail and takes pride in producing high quality work
  • Understands the importance of safety, and is committed to following workplace health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Is motivated to learn, take direction, and progressively take on more responsibility as skills develop
