Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role requires hands-on experience repairing earth-moving equipment from various manufacturers and combines field and workshop based work. The Diesel Plant Mechanic is a key member of our workshop team, working alongside our Auto Electrician, Parts Coordinator, Heavy Plant Serviceman, Boilermaker and Plant Mechanics. In this position, you’ll:Diagnose any issues and identify damage to the fleetRepair, maintain and test mechanical equipment and machineryConduct regular services to site machines or vehiclesSource machinery parts for defect repairs or servicesComplete documentation for maintenance requests, repairs and orders as per company guidelines We are looking for the following skills and experience:Mechanical trade qualification or similar, with heavy industry experience.Demonstrated experience in repairs and maintenance of a large and varied fleet of plant equipment, including but not limited to Volvo, Kobelco, Bell, Hitachi and CAT.Experience in component rebuilds.Strong diagnostic abilities with a solutions-focused mindset and ability to adapt to changing requirements.Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks to a quality standard.Team-focused and ability to meet set deadlines.MR Licence, Current Drivers Licence and NSW WH&S White Card.Ability to work safely and comply with all site safety standards. Our CultureYour success is our success: we invest in our people with opportunities for you to keep learning and growing. We are currently looking for an experienced Diesel Plant Mechanic to join the WEM Civil team.
