Opportunity
WEM has a rewarding opportunity for a Civil Site Engineer to join the team.
We have a strong portfolio of work with multiple projects underway across Sydney's Northwest and Southwest, Hunter and Illawarra regions. This role requires travel to job sites across the area, predominantly in the Illawarra & Southwest region.
The Site Engineer is responsible for assisting and working with the Site Team (Site Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor and Surveyor) to help achieve successful delivery of the project. The Engineer is also responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding the project, including but not limited to; clients, council, inspectors, superintendents, designers, and the general public.
This role offers flexibility in hours and can be structured as either part-time or full-time, depending on your availability. We're open to discussing arrangements that suit the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise your thorough understanding of drawings, specifications and quality, WHS, and environmental requirements for all site-related activities.
- Support the implementation of the project quality, WHS and environmental management plans on all projects.
- Assist with daily project monitoring for toolbox inspections, checklists, documentation, and record keeping.
- Assist with the monitoring and updating of the construction program and site activity.
- Ensure materials are procured in advance of the construction program.
- Assist in monitoring daily work activities to maximise the utilisation of plant and resources.
- Implement improvements for managing site-related costs.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree or working towards.
- 1-2 years previous experience as an engineer in the civil industry, ideally in residential subdivision/bulk earthworks
- Current White Card
- Current Driver’s Licence
- A commitment to health, safety, environment and quality standards and practices
- Strong relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills
- A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to use initiative
- Great communication and organisation skills, including strong attention to detail
- Strategic and analytical thinking skills with the ability to problem-solve
- The ability to be computer savvy, including the use of CRM-based applications and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
